The Centre for Future Labour Market Studies (EU-ERA) recently initiated a deep-dive interview with the Malaysian Association of Hotel Owners. The primary objective of this engagement was to gain comprehensive insights into the prevailing wage practices within the hotel sector and to examine the implementation and integration of the Progressive Wage Model (PWM).
The in-depth interview yielded invaluable insights, affirming the potential success of implementing the Progressive Wage Model in Malaysia. These results highlight the importance of refining the current wage system, evaluating the prospective employees’ readiness for the future, and considering the dynamics of the employment ecosystem.
