Summary
The purpose of the present study is to investigate whether older workers would replace younger worker and in turn, will increase the unemployment among the younger workers. The novelty of the present paper is that this study will provide empirical evidences whether the older workers will substitute the younger workers in Malaysia, by using four different measures of employment – the number of employed persons, employment rate, unemployment rate and labour force participation rate.
