- Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English (both writing and speaking).

What are the requirements?
- A master’s or Ph.D. degree in economics or a related field is often required, with coursework in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and quantitative research methods.
- Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods, data collection, and statistical analysis.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret economic data, develop hypotheses, and draw meaningful conclusions from research findings
- A solid understanding of economic theories, concepts, and models relevant to the specific research focus, whether it’s microeconomics, macroeconomics, labor economics, international trade, finance, or another subfield.
- Experience with managing and cleaning large datasets, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and conducting data-driven research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex economic concepts, research results, and policy implications to both expert and non-expert audiences.
- Familiarity with specialized economic software for modeling, analysis, and simulations, such as SPSS, EViews, Stata, R, or Python or other relevant tools.

Internship program offer
Economist
About the role
An internship program in economics provides aspiring professionals with practical exposure to economic theories and their real-world applications. Participants gain valuable hands-on experience through data analysis, research, and understanding economic policies, contributing to their skill development and future career prospects.
Ideal Candidates
Top candidates are preferably enrolled in economics and statistics and other programs such as social sciences and sustainability with at least 50% economic content. Candidates must have demonstrated experience providing analytical and technical support, including data retrieval and statistical analysis using statistical techniques and various statistical software packages, such as MS Office Excel, EViews, GAMS, SAS or STATA, to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze large data sets.

Website Technology
About the role
Embark on an enriching journey as a website technology intern within our research-based institution, where you’ll immerse yourself in the intersection of technology and research, crafting websites that support cutting-edge projects.
Ideal Candidates
Ideal skills for website technology interns include proficiency in programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, enabling them to create and modify web pages effectively. Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal is beneficial for managing and updating website content.
Furthermore, understanding responsive design principles for mobile-friendly websites, basic knowledge of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, and familiarity with version control systems like Git can be advantageous. An aptitude for troubleshooting technical issues and a continuous eagerness to learn and adapt to new web development technologies are also essential skills for website technology interns to excel in their roles.
Allowances
During the internship period, successful candidates will receive monthly allowances (a minimum of RM500), and the rates will depend on their skills, experiences, and the tasks assigned by the center. We provide a progressive allowance structure that increases based on performance, subject to regular evaluations.
