Hello there! I’m Chakrin

Chakrin is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Business and Economics, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He holds a PhD in Development Economics from UPM, specializing in database development and macroeconomic modelling. His current research is dedicated to addressing critical development issues within the labour market and food security domains, with a primary goal of offering evidence-based policy insights.

Beyond academia, he collaborates with diverse local and international institutions as a researcher and consultant. His insights on crucial economic matters are also regularly featured in newspapers, contributing to the broader discourse.
